Who is God?
Terminology
You may have heard people refer to “Allah” or “Ellah”.
This is an Arabic word which literally means “the One to be served”.
It is formed by the elision of two Arabic words, the definite article “El” meaning “The” and “ilah” meaning “one that is served”.
Friday prayers take place at Oddfellows Hall each week unless notified otherwise on the RMA Whatsapp group (QR code below):
“So their Lord responded to them: “I will never deny any of you—male or female—the reward of your deeds. Both are equal in reward.” (Qur’an 3:195)
The RMA Women’s group was formed in 2022 with the founders having a vision from day one of a community which honours and welcomes women in the same way that the Prophet ﷺ did.
If you wish to volunteer, please make yourself known to any of the organisers at Friday prayers or reach out to your usual RMA contact.
