To build a vibrant and thriving faith based community in Richmond that serves to benefit all local residents.
To enhance the quality of life in Richmond by providing support and services that uplift individuals and strengthen community bonds. We are dedicated to promoting understanding and cooperation among all residents, working together to build a better, more connected, and compassionate Richmond for everyone.
RMA was founded in 2022 when a very sensible gentleman who was temporarily living in Richmond for work asked the question – “why is there no jummah here?”
A room was booked and WhatsApp messages were forwarded (by intelligent wives with great foresight) by way of encouragement.
Six people turned up for the first Friday prayers and by the grace of God, the Most High, each week the congregation grew until it was decided to relocate to a larger more permanent venue at Oddfellows Hall.
Following a vetting process, a group of capable trustees were selected from amongst members of the local community based on their skill sets and experience along with an executive team for day to day operational matters.
The organisation is focused on delivering benefit to the local area of Richmond upon Thames. RMA’s vision is of a thriving and dynamic local community improving life for everyone.
The trustees and those on the executive committee involved in organisation of the services provided by RMA work on a purely voluntary basis.
All funds raised go towards the operational costs of the organisation and delivery of services (primarily room hire at the present time).
From time to time, the RMA may pay fees to those delivering Friday sermons or other talks or services for the benefit of the local community.
